Frequently asked questions

When does my year start?

On the first day of the month you order, for 12 months. The solar return is the chart of your next birthday in that time.

Do I need my birth time?

It helps: transits to your Ascendant and Midheaven, and the houses of your solar return, need it. Without it, the report covers every transit to your planets and leaves out the rest.

What is a transit?

A transit is a planet in the sky today reaching a point of your birth chart. The slow planets stay near a point for weeks or months, so they mark the chapters of a year.

How is it calculated?

The positions of the slow planets are calculated day by day with Astronomy Engine and compared with your birth chart. Each transit lists when it is in effect and the days it is exact.

Built on tradition, calculated with science

An old and serious base, from trusted sources

  • A tradition of almost 2,000 years. Your chart follows the classical rules of Western astrology, set down by Ptolemy in the Tetrabiblos in the 2nd century: the tropical zodiac, the major aspects and the dignities of the planets, with the Placidus houses astrologers have used since the 17th century.
  • Astronomy, not guesswork. Planet positions come from the VSOP87 planetary theory that observatories use, through the open Astronomy Engine library, which is checked against NASA JPL data. Chiron comes from NASA JPL Horizons.
  • Your exact place and time. Every city is located with GeoNames, and the time zone in force on your birth date comes from the IANA database, the same one your phone uses.
